KRANJI MEGA MART/WAREHOUSE, SINGAPORE

 Year: 2013

Owner: Kranji Development Pte Ltd

Architect: RSP Architects, Planners and Engineers Pte Ltd

Tasks: Comprehensive TIA study and design of internal roads and junctions

This development at Kranji Jalan Lum Huat was one of the biggest carmart/warehouse built in Singapore. Over 620 units of car show rooms and warehouses, over 2000 parking lots for visitors and showroom, and stacking system to store vehicles. There were several vertical lifts, which would transport cars to this 8-storey building. There were ample loading/unloading spaces for long trailer trucks to park at the ground level. Because of this large movement of vehicles, the road authority LTA asked for a two stage TIA study for year 2015 and 2020 traffic projection. Ali was involved during the master planning stage and design development and later with his team completed the comprehensive TIA study. Because of this study the whole length of Kranji Road needed to widened, 7 junctions had to be upgraded and the dual carriageway road from the site to Kranji Road (about 800m) needed to be designed. Final Planning approval was granted after LTA was fully satisfied with the TIA study and the recommendations.
